Overview
Use the Drawer Front Fasteners tab in the Hardware Library to add machining operations to the drawer box front and the back of the drawer front or tray face.
These operations support different fastening methods used to attach a drawer front to the drawer box.

Configure a Drawer Front Fastener
1. Select or Create a Fastener
Open the Drawer Front Fasteners tab.
Choose an existing fastener from the Name drop-down list, or select Add to create a new drawer front fastener record.
Use Rename when the currently selected record needs a different name.
2. Choose the Fastener Image
Select the image area and choose the appropriate image for the drawer front fastener.
Drawer front fastener images are stored in:
C:\Mozaik\Images\Hardware\DrawerFrontFasteners
Use an image that makes the fastener easy to identify in the Hardware Library.
3. Enter Pricing
Enter the following pricing information:
- Cost
- Markup percentage
- Add-on amount
Use the Comment field to record additional information about the fastener, such as the manufacturer, part number, or application.
4. Select the Operation Side
Use the Side setting to determine where the fastener operations are placed relative to the drawer opening.
Available selections may include:
- Left
- Right
- Left and Right
Select Left and Right when the fastener requires matching operations on both sides of the drawer opening.
5. Select the Vertical Reference
Use the Reference setting to position the operation from the top or bottom of the drawer opening.
Available references include:
- Top
- Bottom
Choose the reference that matches how the fastener location is measured.
6. Enter the Elevation and Inset
Enter the following positioning values:
- Elevation: Controls the vertical position of the operation from the selected top or bottom reference.
- Inset: Controls the horizontal distance of the operation from the selected side of the opening.
Use the equation buttons when the elevation or inset must be calculated from a formula.
Configure the Drawer Box Front Operation
The Box Front settings define the hole machined into the drawer box front.
Enter the following values:
- Depth: The depth of the hole in the drawer box front.
- Diameter: The diameter of the hole.
Enable Through Bore when the hole must pass completely through the drawer box front.
Configure the Drawer Front or Tray Face Operation
The Drawer Front/Tray Face settings define the hole machined into the back or flip side of the applied drawer front.
Enter the following values:
- Depth: The depth of the hole entering the back of the drawer front or tray face.
- Diameter: The diameter of the hole.
Use a through-bore option when applicable if the operation must pass completely through the drawer front.
Manage Fastener Operations
The operations list displays the machining operations assigned to the selected drawer front fastener.
The list may include:
- X: The horizontal or inset position.
- Y: The vertical or elevation position.
- Reference: The selected top or bottom reference.
- Side: The selected left, right, or left-and-right placement.
Select an operation in the list to review or edit its properties.
Use the operation controls to:
- Add an operation.
- Delete the selected operation.
- Move an operation up or down in the list.
- Review or modify the selected operation.
Manage Drawer Front Fastener Records
The controls on the right side of the Drawer Front Fasteners tab manage the selected fastener record.

| Rename | Changes the name of the selected fastener record. |
| Export | Exports the selected fastener for transfer or backup. |
| Import | Imports a drawer front fastener record. |
| Specs | Opens the specifications folder at C:\Mozaik\Data\Specs. |
Select the Unit System
Select the unit system used for the fastener dimensions:
- mm
- in
Confirm that the selected unit system matches the elevation, inset, depth, and diameter values entered for the operations.
Complete the Setup
Review the fastener selection, image, pricing, positioning references, and machining dimensions.
Confirm that the drawer box front and drawer front operations use the correct depths and diameters.
Select OK to save the Hardware Library changes.
Verification Checklist
Before completing the setup, verify the following:
- The correct drawer front fastener is selected.
- The correct fastener image is assigned.
- Cost, markup, and add-on amounts are correct.
- The operation uses the correct side or sides of the opening.
- The top or bottom reference is correct.
- Elevation and inset values position the operation correctly.
- The drawer box front depth and diameter are correct.
- Through Bore is enabled when the drawer box front hole must pass completely through.
- The drawer front or tray face depth and diameter are correct.
- The operations list contains all required fastener operations.
- The correct inch or metric unit option is selected.
