Overview
Use the Closet Rods tab in the Hardware Library to create and manage closet rod records, set pricing and placement, choose the display graphic, and define mounting operations.
Complete each section before selecting OK so the closet rod displays and machines as intended.

Configure a Closet Rod
1. Select or Create a Rod
Open the Closet Rods tab.
Choose an existing closet rod from the Name drop-down list or select Add to create a new closet rod record.
Use Rename when the currently selected record needs a different name.
2. Choose the Rod Image
Select the image used to represent the closet rod.
Closet rod images are stored in:
C:\Mozaik\Images\Hardware\ClosetRods
3. Enter Pricing
Enter the following pricing information:
- Cost
- Markup percentage
- Add-on amount
Select the appropriate pricing method:
- Per Unit
- Per Foot
In metric configurations, linear pricing is calculated per meter.
4. Set the Rod Position
Choose the reference point used to position the closet rod:
- Front
- Rear
- Center
Enter the required Distance.
The selected reference determines where the distance is measured from when Mozaik places the closet rod.
5. Enter the Rod Size
Enter the following dimensions:
- Rod Depth
- Rod Height
These values define the cross section of the closet rod.
6. Configure the Graphic
Choose one of the following display options:
- Use Default
- Use SketchUp Model
When using a SketchUp model, select Browse and choose the appropriate model file.
To display hangers:
- Enable Use Hanger.
- Select Browse and choose the hanger model.
- Enter the hanger Quantity.
- Enter the hanger Spacing.
- Enter the hanger Width, Height, and Depth.
Add Mounting Operations
Mounting operations define the machining placed at the ends of the closet rod.
In the Boring section, select Add to open the Insert Operations window.
Configure the following settings:
- Type: Select the required operation, such as Line Bore.
- Side: Select which end or ends receive the operation.
- Reference E: Select the vertical reference.
- Elevation E: Enter the vertical offset.
- Reference I: Select the inset reference.
- Inset I: Enter the inset offset.
- Depth: Enter the machining depth.
- Diameter: Enter the hole diameter.
- Number of Holes: Enter the required hole quantity.
- Units: Select inches or millimeters.
Recommended reference: Use Rod Center as the reference for closet rod mounting operations.
Select OK to add the operation to the closet rod.
Manage Closet Rod Records
The controls on the right side of the Closet Rods tab manage the current record and its supporting files.

| Add | Creates a new closet rod record. |
| Delete | Deletes the currently selected closet rod record. |
| Rename | Changes the name of the current closet rod record. |
| Export | Exports the current closet rod for transfer or backup. |
| Import | Imports a closet rod record. |
| Specs | Opens the specifications folder at C:\Mozaik\Data\Specs. |
Complete the Setup
Review the closet rod selection, pricing, position, dimensions, graphic, and mounting operations.
Confirm that the correct unit system is selected, and then select OK to save the Hardware Library changes.
Verification Checklist
Before completing the setup, verify the following:
- The correct closet rod is selected in the Name list.
- Pricing uses the intended per-unit or linear method.
- The position reference and distance place the rod correctly.
- Rod depth and height match the physical hardware.
- The graphic and optional hanger display correctly.
- Mounting operations use the intended side and reference.
- Operation dimensions and hole quantities are correct.
- The correct inch or metric unit option is selected.
