The Label Template Editor is where you create and customize labels for your parts and cabinets. Labels can display part information, job details, sheet numbers, drawings, and more.
Label Layout Area
The Label Layout Area is the main canvas where your label design is displayed. Everything you add — text, variables, drawings, and shapes — appears here. This is where you build and arrange your label.
Label Libraries (Left Panel)
The left panel gives you access to everything you can add to your label.
Drawings
- For nested or parts labels: add Part Drawings or Sheet Layout graphics.
- For cabinet labels: add Floorplan drawings or various cabinet views (Room Elevation, Front Face, Assembly View, Interior, Front View, Top View, Left View, Right View, Back View).
Note: Set up a simplified layer template for your label drawings to keep them clean. Right-click on a drawing to override the layer template.
Symbols Library
Choose from built-in drawing symbols and shapes, or add your own. To download additional symbol libraries, go to Tools > Import Updated Data.
Variables
Variables pull information automatically from your job. Available sources include the Default, Job Tab, Settings Tab, Room Tab, and About sections. To use a variable in a text field, type the variable name inside curly brackets — for example, {Job_Name}.
Object Settings
Displays properties for the currently selected object. Clicking a text box shows font and color options. Clicking a CAD item shows line color, fill color, and other properties. You can save your preferred settings as defaults.
Label Template Selection
Use the dropdown at the top of the editor to switch between label templates. The label Type is shown to the right of the dropdown.

Mozaik supports both Sheet Labels and Roll Labels.
- Sheet Labels — Choose from preset sheet label sizes (e.g., Avery 5160/5260/5520) or enter custom dimensions.
- Roll Labels — Choose from preset roll layouts or enter custom dimensions.
Note: For nested part labels created in the Label Template Editor, the NBM (Nested Based Manufacturing) label add-on is required which is included in CNC version.
Label Sectioning
Click in the middle of the Label Layout Area to section the label into cells. You can select any cell and set its exact width and height using the Cell Width and Cell Height fields on the right.
Once cells are set up, add text or variables to each cell. Right-click on any text object and select Expand to Fit Cell to automatically size the text to fill the cell.
View Mode
Use the View Mode dropdown to switch between:
- Variable Name — Shrinks variable text so the full variable name is visible in the editor. Useful when variable names are long and get cut off.
- True Font Size — Displays text at its actual print size.
Note: Variable Name view is recommended when setting up your label so you can see all field names clearly.
Right Sidebar Tools
- Add — Add a new Label Template.
- Copy — Copy the current Label Template.
- Delete — Delete the current Label Template.
- Rename — Rename the current Label Template.
- Export — Export the current Label Template to share or back up.
- Import — Import a previously exported Label Template.
Troubleshooting
A variable name is getting cut off in the editor. Switch the View Mode to Variable Name. This shrinks the display text so the full variable name is visible while you work.
My label size is not in the preset list. In Label Setup, manually enter the Width, Height, and Margin values for your specific label stock.
Part drawings are not showing on my nested labels. Make sure you have the NBM (Nested Based Manufacturing) add-on. Without it, nested part label drawings are not available.
Text is not fitting inside the cell. Right-click the text object and select Expand to Fit Cell to automatically resize it to fill the cell boundaries.
