When you open a job and parts are not generating correctly, the cause is often a missing selection in the material template. The material template field exists but has no option selected, so Mozaik does not know what material to assign to those parts.
Why This Happens
Mozaik requires a valid material to be selected in the material template for each cabinet in order to generate and output parts correctly. If the selection is blank, Mozaik cannot process those parts.
This typically occurs when:
- There is a data discrepancy in the materials library.
- Files shared across computers or a network drive are out of sync, causing the material template to lose its selection.
How to Fix It
- Open the affected job in Mozaik.
- Go to your material templates.
- Locate the template that is showing no selection.
- Click the blank field and choose an available option from the dropdown.
- Save and re-run the job to confirm parts are now generating correctly.
Note: If you share files across multiple computers, make sure your shared folder is fully synced before opening any job. Opening a job before a sync completes is a common cause of this issue.
Troubleshooting
The dropdown shows no available options. Your materials library may not be synced correctly. Ensure all machines sharing the job files are fully up to date before reopening the job.
The issue keeps coming back after fixing it. This is a strong indicator of a file sync problem. Check that your file sharing solution — Dropbox, OneDrive, a network drive, or similar — has fully completed syncing before opening jobs on any machine.
Only some jobs are affected. The issue is likely isolated to jobs that were open or modified during a sync failure. Other jobs that were not touched during the sync issue should be unaffected.
