Type of Cabinets
Choose how AutoFill creates cabinets:
Library Cabinets
Uses pre-designed cabinet products from your Product Library.
How it works:
- AutoFill searches your library for cabinets marked as "AutoFill" cabinets
- Finds the best fit or combination of cabinets for each space
- Uses actual library products (12", 15", 18", 24", 30", 36", etc.)
To set up:
- In Product Editor, go to Info Tab
- Check "Use for AutoFill" for cabinets you want available
- AutoFill will use only these marked cabinets
Benefits:
- Uses your standard cabinet sizes
- Maintains inventory consistency
- Works with your actual product catalog
- Includes any custom features built into library products
Best for:
- Stock cabinet manufacturers
- Pre-defined product lines
- Standardized sizing
Example: If you have library cabinets at 12", 15", 18", 24", 30", 36", AutoFill might fill a 78" space with: 30" + 30" + 18" cabinets.
Custom Cabinets
Creates custom-sized cabinets built to your construction specifications.
How it works:
- Enter maximum cabinet width (e.g., 48")
- AutoFill creates cabinets sized to fill the space
- If space exceeds maximum width, divides into equal cabinets
Benefits:
- Perfect fit for any space
- No gaps or fillers needed
- Flexible sizing
- Uses construction method from selected library
Best for:
- Custom cabinet shops
- European-style frameless (no standard sizes)
- Unique space constraints
Example:
- Space: 78" wide
- Max width: 48"
- Result: Two 39" cabinets (78 ÷ 2)

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I undo AutoFill if I don't like the result?
A: Yes, use Ctrl+Z immediately after AutoFill to undo. Then try again with different settings.
Q: Why isn't AutoFill using my library cabinets?
A: Check that cabinets are marked "Use for AutoFill" in Product Editor > Info Tab. If none are marked, AutoFill won't find any library cabinets to use.
Q: What happens if no cabinet combination fits perfectly?
A: With Library Cabinets, AutoFill uses the best combination available, which may leave small gaps for fillers. With Custom Cabinets, cabinets are sized to fit exactly.
Q: Can I AutoFill just base cabinets or just wall cabinets?
A: Yes, AutoFill respects the cabinet type. If your library/construction method is set up for base cabinets, it fills base areas. Same for wall cabinets.
Q: What's the difference between Library Cabinets and Custom Cabinets?
A: Library Cabinets uses pre-designed products with fixed sizes (12", 18", 24", etc.). Custom Cabinets creates cabinets sized exactly to fit the space, using construction specs from the library.
Q: Can I change individual cabinets after AutoFill?
A: Absolutely! AutoFill provides the starting layout. You can then modify, delete, replace, or adjust any cabinet individually.
Q: Does AutoFill work with corner cabinets?
A: AutoFill focuses on linear wall space. For corners, you typically place corner cabinets manually, then use AutoFill for the straight runs.
Q: What if I have multiple construction methods (face frame and frameless)?
A: Create separate Product Libraries for each construction method. Select the appropriate library in AutoFill before running it.
Q: How does AutoFill handle obstacles like windows or outlets?
A: AutoFill recognizes existing objects in the plan and works around them, filling only available space.
