The Settings Tab in Mozaik allows you to define the default design, construction, and visual options for a room. These settings control how cabinets look, how they are built, and how they appear in the 3D preview. Changes made here apply at the room level, with the ability to override certain settings per cabinet when needed.
A live 3D Preview is displayed on the left side of the screen, updating in real time as you adjust your selections.
1. Door and Drawer Faces
Use this section to select the door style and profile options for the room.
- Choose your door type first.
- Available profile options will change based on the selected door type:
- Traditional Doors: Select the desired profiles.
- Routed Doors: Select the required tool groups.
These settings define the overall appearance of cabinet doors and drawer fronts.
2. Drawer and Tray Boxes
This section controls how drawer and tray boxes are constructed.
Here you can select:
- Drawer box construction type
- Drawer guide
- Drawer front fastener (if applicable)
These choices affect both functionality and manufacturing output.
3. End and Back Panels
Configure the door and profile selections used for:
- End Panels
- Back Panels
These settings apply to both Applied Doors and Panelized Ends, ensuring a consistent appearance throughout the room.
4. Material Templates
Select the Material Template used for the room.
- If multiple materials are used, choose the material applied to the majority of cabinets.
- Individual cabinets can have their materials overridden later using the Info Tab in the Product Editor.
- Select the Texture/Texture group associated with the templates
This approach keeps room setup fast while still allowing flexibility.
5. Textures
Textures control the graphic display of your design.
- Select textures for the room to define the visual appearance in 3D views.
- Custom textures can be added to the following folder and then added to the texture group in Mozaik:
C:/Mozaik/Textures
- Supported format: .jpg
Best Practice:
- Keep textures relatively low resolution.
- Textures larger than 512 × 512 pixels are generally unnecessary.
Recommended Texture Mapping Sizes (W × H in inches)
- Wood: 24 × 36
- Walls: 120 × 100
- Tops: 24 × 96
- Floors: 144 × 144
- Appliances: 36 × 80
- Moldings: 100 × 6
6. Libraries
In this section, you can:
- Select the Default Product Libraries used for the job
- Choose the Construction Method for the project
These settings determine which products and construction rules Mozaik uses throughout the room.
7. Miscellaneous Settings
Use Miscellaneous Settings to define additional hardware items such as:
- Closet rods
- Shelf pins
- Other non-standard components
These defaults help ensure consistency across the room.
8. Specs
The Specs tab allows you to attach specification documents to appliances used in the room.
- These documents are reference only
- They do not affect design or manufacturing output
9. Settings Tab Templates
Once your Settings Tab selections are complete, you can save them as a Settings Template.
Templates are useful for:
- Quickly switching between Commercial and Residential projects
- Saving common door styles and profile combinations
- Reducing setup time on future jobs
Tip: Create templates for frequently used door styles or project types to speed up your workflow.
Summary
The Settings Tab is the foundation of your room setup in Mozaik. By defining doors, drawers, materials, textures, libraries, and hardware at the room level—and saving templates—you can work faster, maintain consistency, and still customize individual cabinets when needed.
