The Summary Tab gives you a quick overview of your entire optimization run. Use it to review material usage and yield across all sheets before or after generating G-Code.
Reading the Summary
The Summary Tab displays one row per sheet with four columns:
- Sheet — The run and pattern number for each sheet (e.g., Run #1 Pattern #1)
- Quan — The number of sheets used for that pattern
- # Parts — The total number of parts nested on that sheet
- % Yield — The percentage of the sheet used by parts. Higher is better — less wasted material
- $ Material — The material cost for that sheet based on your material pricing settings
What to Look For
A healthy yield is generally 80%-90% or higher. If you notice a sheet with a significantly lower yield, consider going back to the Optimize Tab and adjusting your settings or reviewing unplaced parts on the Patterns Tab to see if anything can be added to that sheet.
Note: The Summary Tab is read-only. No changes can be made here. To adjust your results, go back to the Optimize Tab and re-run.
Troubleshooting
- My yield looks low on several sheets: Go back to the Optimize Tab, make sure you are using Better (Recommended) quality, and check that remnants are not forcing poor layouts on the Materials Tab.
- The $ Material column shows $0.00: Material pricing has not been set up in your Material Library. Update the cost per sheet there and re-run the Optimizer.
