Overview
The Order Tab is a versatile tool that allows you to add items to your job that don't appear in your cabinet design. You can use it as a standalone order entry system without creating any layout at all—simply drag and drop items to build your order. The Order Tab also includes a dedicated Doors mode for processing cabinet doors independently.
Accessing the Order Tab
Click on the Order tab in the main toolbar at the top of your Mozaik window.
Understanding the Order Tab Interface
1. Product Libraries Dropdown
Select which Product Library you want to work with from the dropdown menu at the top. Options may include:
- Frameless V12
- Appliances V12
- Cabinet Accessories V12
- Closets V12
- Face Frame Cabinets V12
The products from your selected library will appear in the panel below.
2. Products vs. Job Parameters Tabs
Products Tab: View the contents of your selected Product Library as a browsable list.
Job Parameters Tab: Edit the parameters of the selected Product Library for this specific job only (without changing the global library settings).
3. Product Library Products List
Browse all products available in your selected library:
- Base Cabinets
- Sink Base
- Single Door
- Pair Door - Single Drawer
- 3 Drawer Bank 1-2
- 4 Drawer Equal
- Appliance Bases
- Base End Panels
- Corner Cabinets
- Wall Cabinets
To add items to your order: Simply drag products from this list and drop them into the Order Entry List on the right side of the screen.
To modify libraries: Go to File > Product Libraries to edit, reorganize, or create custom product libraries.
4. Product 3D Preview
When you select any product from the library list, a live 3D preview appears showing you exactly what the item looks like. This helps you verify you're selecting the correct product before adding it to your order.
Working with the Order Entry List
5. Order Entry List
The Order Entry List displays all items currently in your order with the following columns:
- Image: Visual thumbnail of the product
- Quan: Quantity ordered
- Name: Product name/description
- Width: Product width
- Height: Product height
- Depth: Product depth
- Description: Additional details
- Fin: Finish selection
- ID: Unique identifier
To edit an item: Click on any product in the list to modify its size, quantity, finish, or other properties.
Important Note: Items that were added to your order through the design/layout (in the Products Tab) must be modified in the Products Tab, not in the Order Tab.
6. Include Rooms Checkbox
Check the Include Rooms box to display products from all rooms in your job within the Order Entry List. This gives you a complete view of everything in your project.
When unchecked, you'll only see items manually added through the Order Tab.
7. Import Order File
Click the Import Order File button to import an order list from another application or a previously saved order.
File Requirements:
- Must be a
.mzkordfile type - Must be formatted in XML as shown below:
<Order> <Product QTY="1" Name="Double Door" Library="Face Frame Cabinets V8" Description="A sample import"/> <Product QTY="1" Name="Single Door" Library="Face Frame Cabinets V8" Depth="30" Height="36" Width="20"/> <Product QTY="2" Name="Single Door" Library="Frameless V8"/> </Order>
Example File Location: See the sample file sample order.mzkord in your c:/mozaik folder for reference.
Working with Doors (Standalone Door Processing)
The Order Tab includes a specialized Doors mode for processing cabinet doors without creating a full cabinet design.
8. Switching to Doors Tab
At the top of the Order Tab interface, click the Doors tab to switch from Products mode to Doors mode.
9. Door Library List
When in Doors mode, instead of seeing product libraries, you'll see a complete list of all door styles from your Door Library:
- Default Door
- Default Drawer
- Flat Panel (Back Panel 1-4)
- Flat Panel (Base End)
- Flat Panel (Tall End)
- Flat Panel (Wall End)
- Flat Panel Arched
- Flat Panel Drawer
- Glass (1-6 Pane)
- MDF Flat Panel variants
- MDF Raised Panel variants
How it works: When you drag a door style into the order list, it automatically uses the profile selections from your Settings tab. You can customize any properties in the Door Order list.
10. Door Order List
The Door Order displays:
- Image: Door style thumbnail
- Quan: Quantity of doors
- Door Style: Style name (e.g., "MDF Flat Panel Square")
- Width: Door width
- Height: Door height
- Profile 1, 2, 3: Edge profile selections
- Material: Door material
To edit door properties:
- Select one or multiple doors from your order
- Right-click and select Edit Properties
- Make changes to size, material, profiles, etc.
- Click OK to apply changes to all selected doors at once
This bulk editing feature is extremely useful when you need to modify multiple doors with similar properties.
11. Organizing Your Door List
Use the Up and Down arrow buttons to reorganize items in your door order list. This helps you sequence doors in the order you want them manufactured or organized on your cutlist.
12. Duplicate Doors
Click the Duplicate button to create an exact copy of the selected door. This copies:
- Door size
- Tooling specifications
- Material selection
- Profile selections
- All other properties
This is a convenient time-saver when adding multiple doors with similar properties—duplicate and then make small adjustments rather than starting from scratch.
13. Customizing Visible Columns
Right-click on the column headers in the Door Order list to choose which columns are visible:
- Image
- Quan
- Door Style
- Width
- Height
- Profile 1, 2, 3
- Material
- Notes
- ID
Customize the view to show only the information relevant to your workflow.
