Overview
Mozaik uses a single primary cutout (profile) tool from a toolset unless otherwise specified. Understanding how Mozaik prioritizes cutout tools—and how to override that behavior using Cutout by Material—is essential for ensuring the correct tool is used during processing.
Default Cutout Tool Behavior
By default, Mozaik will prioritize one cutout tool from the toolset.
- The primary cutout tool is the tool that appears highest in the toolset list
- This tool will be used for all profile/cutout operations unless an override is applied

Toolset Order Matters
The order of tools in the toolset directly determines which cutout tool is selected first.
- The tool listed at the top of the toolset is selected as the primary cutout tool
- Reordering tools will change which tool Mozaik prioritizes

Cutout by Material Option
The Cutout by Material feature allows you to assign different cutout tools based on material type.
Availability
The Cutout by Material option becomes available only when multiple cutout tools are added to the toolset.

Assigning Tools by Material
Once enabled, Cutout by Material allows you to:
- Select a specific cutout tool for each material
- Override the default toolset priority on a per-material basis

Common Scenarios
- Use different cutout tools for plywood vs. melamine
- Assign compression tools only to applicable materials
- Maintain one toolset while supporting multiple material types
Result
When tool order and Cutout by Material settings are configured correctly, Mozaik will use the intended cutout tool for each material without manual intervention.
Additional Notes
- Always verify tool order after adding new tools to a toolset
- If Cutout by Material is not visible, confirm that multiple cutout tools exist in the toolset
