Resolving the “Drilling Failed to Find Tool” Error in Mozaik
When generating machining operations, you may encounter the error:
“Drilling Failed to Find Tool”
This indicates that Mozaik cannot locate a valid tool associated with one or more drilling operations on a part. The issue is typically caused by missing, outdated, or invalid operations assigned to the product or the library it originated from.
Step 1: Identify the Product and Part Mentioned in the Error
The error message will specify which product contains the invalid operation. Open that product from the optimizer and edit the part referenced in the message.
Step 2: Locate the Operation Causing the Issue
Within the part editor:
Select the Operation ID shown in the error.
Viewing this ID will reveal the origin of the operation, allowing you to determine where the tool requirement is coming from.
This helps identify if the problematic operation is:
A manually added operation
A legacy/template operation
A library-based operation that no longer matches your current tooling
Step 3: Correct or Remove the Operation
You have two options to resolve the issue:
Option A – Remove or Adjust the Operation Manually
Delete the invalid operation directly from the part or assign a correct tool if appropriate.
Option B – Remove the Operation from the Library
If the operation originates from a product library, remove or correct it in the library itself to prevent it from reappearing on future products.
Important: Re-Optimize After Making Changes
If you make any modifications to operations inside Mozaik, ensure you re-optimize the job so the changes apply to the machining output.
