Best Practices for Saving Your Work in Mozaik
To help you maintain organized, recoverable, and up-to-date project files, we’ve outlined several recommended methods for saving your work in Mozaik. Following these steps ensures that your progress can always be re-loaded, shared, or restored as needed.
1. Saving a Product to the Product Library
If you have created or modified a cabinet inside a room and want to reuse it later, you can save it directly to your Product Library.
This allows you to:
- Store the cabinet as a reusable template
- Access it in any job file
- Maintain a consistent catalog of customized products
(Refer to the image above for button location and workflow.)
2. Saving Adjusted Construction Parameters
When you modify construction methods or cabinet parameters—such as reveals, overlays, fillers, or joinery—you can save these settings for future use.
Saving your parameters allows you to:
- Apply the same construction method to the current job
- Load the saved method into other jobs
-
Ensure consistency across all cabinet builds
Simply select Save As under Standard Construction Methods to store your updated parameters.
Please see the Settings - Libraries tutorial for more information
3. Saving the Entire Job
To save the job file as a whole—including all rooms, cabinets, modifications, and job settings—use the standard Save function:
- Go to File → Save (or press Ctrl + S)
This ensures your current progress is preserved and can be reopened later.
4. Using Timestamped Backups
Mozaik also provides the option to create and restore timestamped backups. This is especially helpful if you need to:
- Roll back to an earlier version of the job
- Recover work after unwanted changes
- Keep version history as you make updates
Using File → Backup/Restore, you can save a snapshot of your job at any point and restore it at any time.
