Mozaik Tops Tab - Customer Guide

Overview

The Tops Tab in Mozaik is your workspace for adding, editing, and customizing countertops in your cabinet designs. This guide will walk you through the main features and tools available.

Accessing the Tops Tab

Click on the Tops tab in the main toolbar at the top of your Mozaik window (it's the icon that looks like a countertop).:

Adding Countertops

There are three ways to add countertops to your design:

1. Draw New Top

Click the Draw New Top button to draw a countertop directly on your floor plan. This gives you complete control over the shape and placement.

2. Add New Top

Select a cabinet first, then click Add New Top to automatically place a countertop on that cabinet.

3. Auto Build Tops

Click Auto Build Tops to let Mozaik automatically generate countertops for all cabinets in your design. This is the fastest method for standard layouts.

Editing Countertop Properties

Select any countertop to access these editing options:

Make precise adjustments to your selected countertop:

• Length & Depth: Set exact dimensions
• Position: Adjust left and right positioning
• Elevation: Set the height of the countertop
• Thickness: Change countertop thickness
• Splash Height: Adjust backsplash height

Edit Top Shape

Use the Edit Top Shape button to modify the shape. You have two options:

• Edit Shape on Floor Plan: Quick visual editing directly in your floor plan view
• Edit Shape with Shape Editor: More precise modifications using Mozaik's advanced shape editor

Split

Use the Split button to divide one long countertop into two separate, shorter tops.

Overhangs and Splashes

Overhangs

Control how far your countertop extends beyond the cabinets:

• Front: Overhang at the front edge
• Back: Overhang at the back edge
• Left: Overhang on the left side
• Right: Overhang on the right side

Side Splashes

Add backsplashes to the sides of your countertop by checking:

• Left Splash
• Right Splash

Customizing Textures

Texture Overrides

You can apply different materials/textures to your countertops:

• Counter Top: Change the main countertop material
• Splash: Change the backsplash material separately

Textures are located in your Mozaik installation folder: c:/mozaik/textures/tops

You can also use the Template dropdown to apply preset texture combinations.

Right-Click Menu Options

Right-click on any countertop to access these quick tools:

• Edit Shape with Shape Editor: Open the advanced shape editor
• Edit Shape on Floor Plan: Edit visually in floor plan view
• Split: Divide the countertop into two pieces
• Delete: Remove the countertop
• Regenerate Cutouts: Update sink cutouts after moving a sink
• Dimension: Choose which dimensions to display

Top Settings

Click Top Settings to set default values for all new countertops:

• Top Thickness
• Front Overlay
• Finished End Overlay
• Splash Height
• Face Thickness
• Splash Thickness

Editing Tips

Editing Countertop Shapes on Floor Plan

When you select "Edit Shape on Floor Plan," you can:

• Drag corner points to reshape the countertop
• Right-click on edges to access additional options like:
  • Extend Edge By...
  • Set Edge Length To...
  • Set Bulge To...
  • Add Bulge
  • Split
  • Add Splash
  • Add Waterfall
  • Add Waterfall Reverse Grain

This method is great for quick visual adjustments without entering precise measurements.
