How to Generate a Sink Cutout in a Countertop
Overview
This article explains how to correctly generate a sink cutout in a countertop using Mozaik. Proper placement and regeneration steps are essential for the software to recognize and apply the opening.
Steps to Create a Sink Cutout
1. Place the Sink on the Product
Start from either the Room tab or a Product Library.
- Select your sink fixture.
- Position it on the product where the cutout should appear.
Important: The sink must be placed accurately so Mozaik knows where to generate the opening.

2. Regenerate Cutouts on the Countertop
Once the sink is properly positioned:
- Navigate to the Tops tab.
- Right-click on the countertop.
- Choose Regenerate Cutouts from the context menu.
This triggers Mozaik to analyze the fixture placement and generate the sink opening.

3. Verify the Cutout Recognition
After regeneration, you should see:
- A green outline
- Corresponding text indicating the sink cutout
If these appear, Mozaik has successfully identified the sink’s location and applied the cutout.

4. Edit the Cutout Properties (Optional)
To further adjust the opening:
- Right-click directly on the generated cutout area.
- Select Cutout Properties.
From here, you can modify dimensions, offsets, shapes, and other cutout details.
