The Mozaik Optimizer allows you to control the depth of each cutting pass for your CNC tools. By setting a specific pass depth, you can break down a deep cut into several shallower passes. This helps to prevent tool damage, reduce strain on the machine, and can result in a cleaner cut, especially when working with thick materials.
To alter the number of cutting passes for a tool:
- Open the Mozaik Optimizer
- You can open this from the Mozaik toolbar by clicking View > Optimizer

- From the list, click on the tool you would like to alter.
- Locate the Pass Depth field. Enter the maximum depth for a single cutting pass.
- For example, a value of 5mm will make the machine cut in 5mm increments until it reaches the final material depth.
